Delete account

The short version
You can permanently delete your FishPin account at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. The fastest way is from inside the app; if you no longer have access to the app, you can email us instead.
Option 1 — From inside the app
- Open FishPin and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Read the warning and tap Continue.
- Type
DELETEinto the confirmation field and tap Delete My Account.
Your account and data are removed from our servers immediately. The app signs you out and the data on your phone is wiped.
Option 2 — By email (no app access required)
If you have lost access to the app or your phone, send a deletion request from the same email address you used to sign up:
- To: fishpinsupport@gmail.com
- Subject: Delete my FishPin account
- Body: Confirm in writing that you want your account permanently deleted. Optionally include the email address tied to the account if you are writing from a different inbox.
We process email deletion requests within 7 days. You'll get a confirmation email when the account is removed.
What gets deleted
- Your account profile (email, name, profile photo).
- All saved fishing spots (pins) and route waypoints.
- All recorded paths and trip stats.
- All catch logs and photos that were synced to the cloud.
- All emergency contacts saved to your account.
- Your synced settings (units, preferences).
- The active-device record used to protect your account.
What we keep, briefly
Short-lived server logs (used to spot abuse and crashes) may contain your anonymous request data for up to 30 days after deletion before being automatically discarded. These logs do not include your fishing spots, paths, catches, or contacts.
What is not deleted
Deletion only removes data tied to your FishPin account. Things outside our control are not affected, including:
- Your one-time purchase record at Google Play (managed by Google).
- SMS messages already delivered to your emergency contacts — these went through your phone's carrier, not our servers.
- Any local screenshots, exports, or shared images you saved outside the app.
Can I get my data back?
No. Deletion is final. If you want a copy of your pins or paths first, open them in the app and use the share / export options before you delete.
